New Faces: Actors

written by
Hannah Walmesley-Browne

How time flies, we can't believe we’re midway through November already!  Even as the year winds to a close, the work at SR never stops and despite all the recent hoops we are all having to jump through, we have still been recruiting some fantastic new additions to our team

Say hello to some of our new Actors below, starting with the gorgeous Italian beauty Heléna...

Having been working as a model since she was just 16 years old, Helena jumped into acting just a few years later.  With her striking European looks and fluency in English, Spanish and Italian (she also does voice-over work in all three languages), we were delighted to invite her in to team SR. Following a successful acting career in both Italy and Spain, Helena moved to London in 2015 where she studied Meistner Technique and has appeared in several commercials and short films, two thrillers, an ITV comedy series. and performed in La Boheme at the Royal Opera House.  Helena was nominated twice (in the UK and US) for best actress in short film "Arrivederci Rosa" (she payed Rosa).

We wanted to get to know Heléna a little better and so asked her a few questions...

What does a day in the life of Heléna look like?

‘My routine is pretty  variable, however I can tell you I love mornings, breakfast with a couple of black coffees, long walks in the park, I try to write something everyday, even just some thoughts. Plus, I need some good music everyday. Sometimes calming, sometimes more alternative rock.’

Favourite Job?

‘Hard to choose! I have so many good memories on set. ‘Sunburn’ is my first English Feature Film, a thriller where I played the lead role of Lucia and I have lovely memories about it.’

What do you love to do in your spare time?

‘As soon as lockdown ends I am going to spend a weekend at the sea. This is really what I want to do now.

I also love cooking, I love improvising and changing the ingredients of the recipe. Dancing (I really need to move my body), and I can happily spend a day watching a whole season of my favourite series (I just finished Kidding and I am currently watching Glow).

Who is your biggest inspiration?

‘I get inspired by everyday people, mostly my family and friends. I know incredible amazing people - their smile in the most difficult times is my inspiration.’

Any words of wisdom for us?

‘Keep believing in your dreams and work hard for them, watch good films and tell the people you love what they mean for you.’

This year has been tough on us all, but we couldn't agree more with Helena’s attitude to work and life.  Keep scrolling to meet more of our new lovely faces.....

Meet Daisy, our musical theatre girl.  Trained At Laine Theatre Arts, as well as appearing in musicals including Mamma Mia and All Or Nothing, Daisy has worked on campaigns for Argos, Upbeat Drinks, Yuki Tokyo and Byron Hamburgers.  She thrives on the novelty of working with different people every day and booking new jobs and says her favourite shoot so far is the Christmas campaign she booked for Monica Vinader jewellery.  A true fashionista, Daisy’s instagram page is full of outfit inspiration, and fun styling videos. Having already amounted over 26,000 followers - we think she’s one to watch.
