Meet The Model: Clover Skerry

written by
Rhiannon Bond

Today we're chatting to gorgeous new face Clover Skerry about what she's been up to in lockdown and what's to come!

So lovely to virtually meet you! How long have you been modelling and how did you start?
I've been modelling for just over a year, I was first scouted at The Brits where I was working as a background artist.

To date, what has been your favourite modelling job?
I walked at London Fashion Week last September for an artist and designer; the clothes and whole design of the show were completely out of this world.

Tell us about the funniest / strangest experience you've had so far in modelling?
I had to sing Adele like I was singing in the shower at a casting for a music video! I'm an awful singer so this was super embarrassing!

Let's talk lockdown! What have you loved watching / reading / doing recently?
I've read the Kevin Kwan 'Crazy Rich..." series which are hilarious and such a good beach read. I'm listening to all the Harry Potter books on audiobook at the moment. I recently just finished Friends on Netflix and have learnt how to read knitting patterns.

What does a typical 'A Day In The Life Of' look like at the moment during lockdown?
I wake up late, have a big coffee and watch some Friends with breakfast. I usually do uni work until the afternoon then use the rest of the day to paint, lie in the sun and walk my puppy. In the evening I will usually have cocktails with my friends on zoom or have a virtual date with my boyfriend. If I'm feeling productive I'll also do a workout or go for a run.

What are your top tips for someone who's wanting to start a career in modelling?
Getting your feet off the ground takes time and dedication - don't get discouraged if you start off slow.

How would you best friend describe you in 3 words?
Easy Going, Caring and Wise.

Are there any brands you would like to work with or jobs you would really love to do?
I would love to do skincare or bridal. A brand like Glossier would be a dream!

What else do you get up to outside of modelling?
I'm currently studying to be a dietician and nutritionist and I have a cooking segment on a Youtube channel.  In my spare time I bake and cook mostly! I spend lots of time trying new recipes and making my own; I write them all up into my own recipe book. I also love painting watercolour flora and fauna.

Amazing! So if you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would have to be mashed potato and beans.

Thank you so much for chatting to us today! To finish off, tell us what your proudest moment is to date?
Getting a photo in the Vogue archives!
