FAQ's for new faces
We thought it would be helpful to put together a few questions that we are asked regularly by new faces considering applying to join us.....
How can I join Sandra Reynolds?
Our books are always open here at Sandra Reynolds. Unfortunately, we don’t see walk in appointments, but please do feel free to fill out our online application which can be found here. As I’m sure you can imagine we get hundreds of applications on a weekly basis; should you be successful we will get back to you via email as soon as possible to arrange a meeting between you and the bookers and to take casting shots.
What kind of jobs do you work on and how much will I get paid?
Sandra Reynolds work on hundreds of amazing filming and photographic briefs each month, so our clients vary massively. One day we could be working on a fantastic car commercial and the next a very cool high fashion editorial shoot, we can never predict how our days will pan out, and that’s what we love most about the industry! We are fortunate enough to work with some lovely brands: Phillips, TUI, Sainsbury’s, Cath Kidston, YSL & Ford to name just a few.
Of course, all clients have different budgets for their projects, but here at SR we will always try our best to accommodate both ends of the scale. The payment that the model will receive is completely dependent upon client budgets, time and location of the shoot and the usage of the images/footage, but you will always be advised of the fee clear to you by your booker prior to you confirming your availability for the job.
What are you looking for at Sandra Reynolds?
We are a commercial agency representing all kinds of talent in many divisions; Classics, Juniors, Model, Petite, Curve, Fitness, Presenters & Actors. We think that the stereotypical interpretation of a model being 6ft + with the most amazing body is quite dated and not always what our clients are after. We see first hand everyday our clients ‘broadening their horizons’ when it comes to the talent that they are casting, diversity is key. Of course it’s not just about having the right look but the personality too; above all you must be friendly and professional to work with. It is super important when you get to that casting that you stick in the minds of the client so if you’re the shy quiet one in the corner or hate having your picture taken, this industry is probably not for you!
Do I have to have experience to join your agency?
Definitely not. Although experience and a professional portfolio/showreel is great, we love seeing new faces we can develop too. We have a fantastic ‘New Faces’ team who are always on hand to help you with any queries you may have upon joining the agency, as well as our amazing bookers who love nothing more than nurturing new talent and watching them grow within the industry.
Confidence is key (not to be confused with arrogance!). Even if you have little to no experience, get yourself in front of a mirror and practise those poses! Having confidence in the way you work in front of the camera is a fantastic stepping stone in the right direction. Equally, for aspiring actors there are many courses that you can put yourself on in order to gain a little insight into the acting world, these are also great to be able to put on your CV!
