However good looking, if a child does not react well and enjoy working on camera, a client will not be happy to pay for them. Babies and younger children need to be well-behaved and sociable while older children and teenagers should be confident and friendly. In all cases, the parent/guardian chaperoning the child on castings and bookings must portray a well-groomed and professional image as they will play a major part in giving the first impression to clients.
In order for us to be able to represent a child and put them forward for bookings, we require a high standard of professional photographs of them on our website. Although it is not conditional for you to have these taken through us, we do offer two options subsidised by the agency, which offer excellent value and give us the opportunity of assessing your child’s suitability for professional paid work.
The two options we offer in-house are both held in school holidays in our Norwich studio. The nominal fee payable covers the cost of an
independent professional photographer, stylist and make-up artist. A CD of images is included and re-touched prints from the session may be purchased from the photographer if required.
Taking one of these options does not guarantee your child a place on our books. However gorgeous they may be, if a child does not work well we cannot put them forward to our clients. In the case that your child is not offered representation, you will still have lovely pictures for yourself and will also be able to use the images taken for publicity material with other agencies.
Sandra Reynolds works in accordance with the BIS (Employment Agency Standards) legislation and does not charge up-front fees. If your child is accepted by us, there is a yearly fee of £60 + VAT to cover the cost of necessary publicity material (including index cards, website & portfolio case). This fee is put on account and deducted from your child’s earnings.
